12/16/25 Red Hat Promises AI Safety Boost Through Chatterbox Labs Acquisition

IBM open-source enterprise tools subsidiary Red Hat is boosting artificial intelligence safety, security and guardrail capabilities in its product portfolio through the acquisition of Chatterbox Labs.

Raleigh, N.C.-based Red Hat has closed on its purchase of the London-based company, founded in 2011, and will leverage Chatterbox’s capabilities for demonstrable, trustworthy and safe deployment of AI in production instead of just experimentation, according to the vendor. The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal.

Philips (NYSE: PHG) announced today that it agreed to acquire SpectraWave, a developer of Enhanced Vascular Imaging (EVI) for coronary arteries.

This marks the largest acquisition by the software exporter to date and one of the largest by an Indian IT firm.The acquisition aims to add to Philips’ existing portfolio of image-guided therapy offerings and AI-enabled technologies. Quantum Computing Inc. agreed to acquire Luminar Semiconductor in an all-cash transaction valued at $110 million.

The deal brings Luminar Semiconductor’s photonic components, patents, and engineering team into QCi, strengthening its supply chain, expanding its workforce, and supporting both existing non-quantum customers and future quantum products.
