12/8/25 Paramount Gatecrashes Warner Bros-Netflix deal with $108bn hostile bid

Paramount has launched a $108bn hostile bid to buy Warner Bros Discovery, partnering with Middle East sovereign wealth funds and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to derail Netflix’s agreed deal.

The all-cash offer for the whole of WBD, including its studio, streaming and cable businesses, values the media group at $30 a share. Paramount said it was offering $18bn more in cash, with chief executive David Ellison criticising Netflix’s “inferior proposal”.

The Ellison family and RedBird Capital had committed to backstop the entire $40.7bn of equity capital required for the deal, Paramount said, adding that financing would also come from Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar sovereign wealth funds as well as from Kushner’s Affinity Partners.

12/12/25 EssilorLuxottica to Acquire Signify to Bolster Presence in Belgium

EssilorLuxottica Société anonyme (ESLOY.PK, ESLOF.PK, EL.PA, ESL.DE), a manufacturer of ophthalmic care tools, announced on Friday that it is set to acquire Signifeye, an ophthalmology patient care provider operating 15 eye centres and clinics in the Flanders region of Belgium.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. However, financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Joblogic has expanded its presence across the UK and Ireland with the acquisition of two specialist software providers, Arantico and Invida.

The dual acquisition, which follows Joblogic’s recent investment from Vista Equity Partners, adds more than 100 customers and around 60,000 end users to the group, strengthening its position as a unified platform for contractors, building owners and property managers.

12/11/25 Stripe Acqui-Hires Crypto Payments Startup Valora, Venturing Further Into Stablecoins

The team behind crypto payments app Valora is joining Stripe as the payments giant increasingly expands into blockchain tech and stablecoins, Valora founder Jackie Bona said in a Wednesday blog post.

"We’ve seen firsthand how access to stablecoins and crypto rails can expand economic opportunity," Bona said. "In the past few months, it became clear that we could accelerate this mission by joining Stripe, one of the world’s leading financial infrastructure platforms."

12/10/25 TCS to acquire Coastal Cloud for $700M in all-cash deal

IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced that it will acquire a 100% stake in Coastal Cloud for an all-cash consideration of $700 million (nearly Rs 6,286 crore).

This marks the largest acquisition by the software exporter to date and one of the largest by an Indian IT firm.

12/10/25 Dell in talks to acquire AI data-infrastructure startup Dataloop

Dell Technologies is in talks to acquire the Israeli company Dataloop AI, Calcalist has learned. If completed, the deal would mark a significant strategic step for the American computing giant, which in recent years has expanded its investments in artificial intelligence and is building end-to-end AI infrastructure solutions for corporate customers.

Dataloop has developed a platform for managing, labeling, and processing unstructured data used to train artificial intelligence models. Its technology helps organizations build efficient workflows for handling complex data and create information architectures suited to an era in which large-scale models require vast amounts of organized, labeled, and easily accessible datasets

12/8/25 RobinHood to enter Indonesia market with brokerage and crypto trader acquisition

Robinhood Markets will acquire Indonesian brokerage firm Buana Capital Sekuritas and licensed digital asset trader Pedagang Aset Kripto, marking the retail trading platform's entry into one of Southeast Asia's major crypto hubs, the company said in a blog post on Sunday.

12/8/25 IBM to acquire Confluent for $11bn as it seeks broaden data offerings

IBM is buying data infrastructure company Confluent for $11 billion in cash in a bid to bolster its data and automation products as ever more companies move their tech operations to the cloud and deploy AI technology.

The tech giant said it would offer $31 for each Confluent share, which is about 50% more than what the smaller company’s shares closed at on Friday, before news of the deal.

Synchronoss Technologies, Inc., a Bridgewater-based global leader and innovator in personal cloud platforms, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Lumine Group Inc., a global buy-and-hold forever acquirer of communications and media software businesses.

The acquisition is made through one of Lumine Group’s wholly owned subsidiaries in an all-cash transaction, valuing the company at an implied equity value of approximately $116.4 million and an enterprise value of approximately $258.4 million.
